Relive Epic Dragon Ball Z Adventures as Handheld RPG for First Time in North America

SANTA CLARA, Calif., (Nov. 10, 2009) – Leading video game publisher and developer NAMCO BANDAI Games America Inc., announced today that Dragon Ball^® Z: Attack of the Saiyans is now available at retailers nationwide, exclusively for Nintendo DS™. For the first time in North America, fans can enjoy the beloved Dragon Ball Z series from a new perspective in this epic turn-based RPG. 

Based on the most popular anime series of all time, Dragon Ball Z: Attack of the Saiyans follows the events of the original Dragon Ball Z story from the World Tournament and Goku’s triumphant defeat of Piccolo through the Vegeta saga. The game also includes exclusive content that has never before been seen in the anime or manga series. 

Players can create a customized three-member party including fan-favorite characters such as Goku, Krillin, Piccolo and more. Turn-based battles play out through vibrant animations that capture the spirit of the series’ signature fighting sequences. Players navigate a vast world map with varied locales as they encounter enemies, find treasures, and destroy obstacles using targeted Ki Blasts. As the game progresses, characters level-up, become more powerful, and gain access to new abilities and moves. Characters will have access to a slew of attacks including Ultimate Skills, Super Attacks and all new team-based “Sparking Combos” which combine the forces of two to three party members to unleash devastating damage on enemies.
