TITLE: Associate Localization Producer

ASSOCIATE LOCALIZATION PRODUCER
 
POSITION SUMMARY
Ensures localized products have excellent translation quality and are culturally appropriate for the US market. Incumbent will support the Localization Producer and Localization Manager to manage all technical and scheduling components of internal and external projects to produce top quality localized products on time and within budget. Monitors localization project progress and report project status to management on a regular basis. The incumbent will also be responsible for tracking and maintaining project materials (technical materials, design, art, music, etc.) as well as individual projects.
 
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
·          Minimum 3 years experience in console videogame industry with direct experience in Japanese/English localization of console videogame products
·          Experience in translating technical as well as creative documents from Japanese to English and vice versa
·          Must be able to prioritize and perform multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities efficiently and effectively
·          Must have excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills in handling difficult situations with the ability to negotiate and recommend solutions to all levels of management
·          Excellent written and verbal communication, multi-tasking and analytical problem-solving skills
·          Experience in directing voice-over sessions and preparing scripts for ADR work
·          Experience in proofreading and editing English/Japanese language text materials
·          Experience in creating reports, analyzing results and presenting recommendations to management
·          Experience in dealing with Sony, Nintendo, and Microsoft third party licensing groups and their respective product submission processes highly desirable
·          Successful track record in production administration roles desirable
·          Videogame software QA knowledge and experience highly desirable
·          Understanding of Japanese/US culture to translate both literally and conceptually necessary
·          Must be able to execute localization projects systematically as well as flexibly based on production situations
·          In-depth knowledge of past, current, and new games and their technology a plus
·          Ability to create competitive analytic reports for evaluating market viability of NBGA products
·          Knowledge of Windows XP and above, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project), FileMaker Pro or equivalent database program, and text editors required. Basic C programming, database operation, game scripting, and html editing skills helpful
·          Ability to design and/or implement a process a plus
·          Must be a team player, with the ability to act professionally with all levels of the organization
·          Must be able to perform under flexible work schedules to deal with global timeframes (Japan/Europe)
·          Must have the ability to act proactively to solve problems, utilizing excellent time management and organization skills
·          Excellent judgment skills based on an ability to perform situational analysis
·          Candidate must enjoy playing videogames
 
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
·          Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with relevant course work acceptable.
