TITLE: Brand Manager
DEPT: Marketing
REPORTS TO: Senior Brand Manager
POSITION SUMMARY
Plan and develop marketing strategies and positioning, execute all phases of marketing, including but not limited to strategic planning, positioning, creative development, promotions and PR coordination. Manage and maintain franchise throughout its lifecycle. Work effectively, cross-functionally and cross-departmentally, to maximize profitability of bottom-line efforts. Ensure transparency of process and progress amongst appropriate stakeholders in project management cycle.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create and implement strategic marketing plans and assist in development of budgets
- Liaise with other departments to ensure integrated marketing efforts
- Track product sales to responsively direct campaigns
- Conduct research to analyze market trends and identify strategic opportunities
- Manage internal sources and outsourced vendors to successfully navigate all phases of product marketing including, but not limited to related planning, creative development (including packaging/POP/POS), advertising, public relations, product launches, special events, and trade and consumer promotions
- Negotiate pricing with outside services and agencies and ensure budget conformity
- Effectively manage projects throughout lifecycle to maximize profitability
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no supervisory responsibilities
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
- 5+ years’ relevant experience in youth-oriented consumer goods, working on a launch of at least one top-tier brand as lead marketing professional
- Proven track record of successful project management and leadership roles
- Extensive knowledge and passion for strategic, integrated marketing
- Background and knowledge of marketing fundamentals, including positioning, market analysis, advertising and PR process and terminology, and rudimentary events and promotions management
- Experience in working successfully with editors and other relevant media personnel
- Ability to innovate in marketing campaigns and apply broader perspective to responsibilities
- Good understanding of the video game industry is a plus, as is experience in partnering with major retailers
- Strong written and oral communication skills and very strong presentation skills
- Excellent analytical skills
- Experience in developing sales forecasts and managing P&L statements for products
- Successful management of multiple complex projects
- Strong team player who works with internal and external partners effectively
- Some travel required and typically consists of short-term trips of one week or less
- Proficiency in Adobe AI, ID and PS is a plus
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
BS/BA Degree, MBA preferred, with coursework in Marketing, Sales, Finance, Business Administration, Computer Science or other area of comparable analytical base
