Hey guys! *looks around...sees tumble weed*
Uh, well, this is awkward. It looks pretty quiet around here. Pash...what'd you do?!?
Anyway, I have something here that is a forum world exclusive!!!
I wanted to learn the song "The Journey Home" from Ace Combat 5, but I couldn't find a chord sheet anywhere on the internet.
So I decided to write one! Below is a fairly simple chord sheet, I didn't add the embellishments or inversions, but if you listen to the song for yourself, you should be able to figure them out. (If you want to use them)
I would post a cover of me doing the song, but the rage of the song is over two octaves. I'm good, but not that good. lol So here is a recording of Mary Elizabeth McGlynn singing it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SrQrkZtg-mo
Now, without further ado, a NBGA forum world exclusive, The Journey home!

The Journey Home
Composer: Keiki Kobayashi
Arranger: Katsuro Tajima, Junichi Nakatsuru
Lyrics: Joe Romersa

Code: Select all

Intro: G  C   G  C  D

G
The journey begins
C
Starts from within
Am            D       G
Things that I need to know

Em
The song of the bird
Am
Echoed in words
C              Am       D
Flying for the need to fly

         G
Thoughts endless in flight
C
Day turns to night
Am            D        G
Questions you ask your soul

Em
Which way do I go?
Am
How fast is too slow?
      C             D           G
The journey has its time within us

      D          Am       G
If a man can fly over an ocean
        D            Am         G
And no mountains can get in his way
         C  D7 G
Will he fly on forever
Em            C         Am D
Searching for something to believe

     D           Am           G
From above I can see from the heavens
     D               Am           G
Down below I see the storm raging on
     C           D7     G
And somewhere in the answer

Em         C        Am   D
There is a hope to carry on

Interlude: G  D  C  D

       G
When I finally return
C
Things that I learn
Am       D       G
Carry me back to home

Em
The thoughts that I feed
Am
Planting a seed
     C         D        G
With time will begin to grow

Em
The more that I try
Am
The more that I fly
     C        D              G
The answer in itself will be there

Or with an optional plagal cadence at the end (as in the recording):
     C           D             C   G
The answer in itself will be there

P.S. I had to put it in code so the chords would format properly...(stupid auto-delete spaces)...Even then I had to tweak it for about an hour before it looked somewhat presentable.
And if anyone has any other songs they'd like made into a chord sheet, I'll try to make one if I have the time. :P

*Edit* I added names of the composer arrangers, and lyricist.

And I provided moral support during said one hour tweaking! I helped!

If this was between 2004 and 2007 I probably could have been able to read that.

You could use a website like http://chordfind.com/ to figure out the chord symbols.
I've never written staff for guitar, only for piano. I could try to write numbered notation (I assume you mean tablature), but it would look very basic.
You're going to have to improvise your own style from listening to it.

Well, maybe it's time to learn to read it again!!! COME ON VIGGY! Don't let those pilots die. haha
