SC5 MASSIVE suggestion

Post by peacewolf » Tue Jul 26, 2011 1:28 pm

Hello namco, i am an adamant gamer and have been playing soul caliber four since it came out, and naturally, i have a MASSIVE suggestion to the game, and this should hopefully satisfy fans of soul caliber, and allow the game to come to a nice close.

I propose that you include ALL the characters from the ENTIRE soul caliber series, yes, ALL of them, i also propose that you allow all of their costume's (although updated with new graphics, but still kept as close to the original as possible) so that way people who like, say, nightmares 1p costume from soul caliber four can use that costume in soul caliber five, and so on and so fourth.

I also suggest this so you also don't anger any of your players with the classic "OMGWTFBBQ WHERE'S MY FAVE GUY!!!!" that most of the fighting games are subject to when they remove even one character, for example, people who are fans of astaroth will probably not get the game if he's not in it, or fans of kilik will not get it if kilik isint there, and so on and so forth.

My final suggestion is one that everyone will love, a massive expansion in wardrobe for character creation, i say, allow ALL the costumes, clothes, outfits and all that from ALL the characters to be used, like how you could use the entire 2p outfit of tira but nothing from the first outfit, this should satisfy all of the fans of the series and allow the game to come to a peaceful end.

Keeping all the characters in the game is great for Game play
but keeping all the characters in the story or giving them all campaign lowers the qualities of the stories, by making them shorter and have less canon.

also having characters stay dead instead of coming back or gaining internal youth (looking at you Ivy)
ruins the overall progression that there aiming for with the 17 year jump.

but other then story i would love to see them in multiplayer/challenges

well, yeah, thats kinda what i meant, they don't have to exactly have a story, but they have to be playable.

they could also just vanilla a story for them, like with the created characters of SC4.

it would avoid a situation like halo reach got, people loved the game for a month or two, and then they go. "Hey, no br here, LAME." and around 65% of the "crowd" went back to playing halo 3 because of simpler gameplay and the BR, it can happen to any game, that one feature thats missing sends everyone back to the game before that.

and lets not forget the massive amount of SC5 trade in's if fans are disappointed.

Seriously that is such a stupid suggestion. Ya character creation is cool and all but i would rather have an awesome playing game than a awesome looking game. SC is already going to have decent character creation.........Here is a good suggestion...how about eliminating tech traps in the game. For example Yoshimitsu, 66 A+B, 6B...you can do this over and over and it cant be blocked unless you tech roll or A~B+K, 9 B+K, 4b, 66 A+B, 4B. I win lots of matched because of tech traps but its kind of cheap. Mitsurugi command list is seriously one giant tech trap. Nightmare 2A+G, 33B is another tech trap that can either ring you out or set you up for a wall combo. Hilde's doom combo can tech into another doom combo. If you get up then you get hit no matter if your holding block or not. If you dont know how to play then the average player is going to get tech-ed into some crazy combos. Using unblockable attacks to trap someone is different but if i am holding block then you should be able to block.

Things like this are important to hardcore players, not character creation..........Another suggestion is that in SC5 i noticed that guard impacting or parrying uses some of that new soul meter, Guard impacting should seriously not use any meter but reward the player for a successful parry or guard impact with more meter. If you miss the guard impact then it should have a negative effect on the player.

^ way to fail hijack the thread.

the suggestion may seem stupid to you, but your probably one of those kids who thinks they know what they talk about when it comes to games like soul caliber, mortal kombat, street fighter, ect.

go back to call of duty.

what hes getting at is character balance starts to have issues when your character roster gets bigger.
a good example of this is MVC2. not to say this is always true, such as MVC3 lol

Ivy-Genetics from Cervantes

Maxi-Well, you'd think he would be using hair dye to take out the grays. lol

Hilde-1. The armor, and 2. Hilde is only 35, which isn't that big in terms of aging. Plus if you look at her art render, she obviously looks her age.

Tira-She has what I call a big case of baby face. You can tell that her hair is kind of graying out though.
