What Ace Combat are you playing? If your talking about AC6, please try to post help only in the other topic please.

Normally, you must have enough money, then you go into the hangers, select buy aircrafts, chose one you want and then purchase it.

Hello! I am new to the forums, but not to Ace Combat. I figured I might be able to help a little.

As for the question about evading incomming missles, without losing much altitude, you can try to roll with it. I'll explain:

If the missle is coming in from behind, try to barrel roll, while holding the yaw button, in the direction you are rolling. This will make a somewhat, corkscrew shape, and it should be just enough to confuse the missle into following you. It should follow for a bit, trying to make the same movments as you, but eventually, you should lose it. :D

Hope that helped.

that may work in real life, but not in Ace Combat. Besides, it is a FOX 2 or 3 missile, it probably won't work at all. Infrared are hard to evade, just hard brakes would work. ;)

Oh, welcome to the forum. :)

Thanks for the welcome. :D

And I assure you, if you do it just right, it works. I do it all the time in AC5, ACZ, and now, AC6. :) No such luck in 4... those missles seem to hunt me down, like I killed their families. D:

It won't work agains SAAM's... That's for sure. But against AIM-9's, I seem to get away with it a lot. (incase you were wondering, I was in an F-15E, last time I did this)

For some reason, if you just try to roll, it doesn't work. But when you throw that yaw in there, it adds just enough turn, to have the missle streak right past you. :)

EDIT:
An example of this, would be in Ace Combat: Zero. When you fight some of the aces (especially Espada, and Schwartz), they will dive straight down, and use this very same technique to send your missles spiraling around, out of control. :P

It also works pretty well with XMAA's. Only ones I wouldn't try it with, are SAAM's, and QAAM's.

Ah, well those missiles have poor maneuverability. It might also work with if you just brake and turn while keeping in leveled flight. ;)

Actually I've been able to take out a Striggon in a dog fight with the AIM-7 (SAAM). The QAAM are useless.

Yeah, all they do is go around if they miss a target, but when they turn around their aproch is too curved, and they'll miss.

I, myself, am not a fan of the QAAM. But they do cut a lot sharper than the AIM-9. They are useless if they miss the first time. But sometimes, they can be a pain to get away from.

My best bet against Strigon team was my machinegun. Almost every kill on Strigon so far was a gun kill. They just leave themselves wide open for it. :P

Well the QAAM was effective in AC04.

No, in AC4, it was the devil. HAHA You could fire two, and one could kill the person you were playing against. Then, when he respawned, it would hunt them down relentlessly, and re-aquire it's lock. HAHA (technically, it makes sense, since it's an uncaged weapon, but still mean)
