In terms of superiority and versatility balance

F-22A(>)Su-30MKI(> or =)F-35(>)Eurofighter(>)Rafale

The Raptor is more expensive for reasons obvious and reasons not so obvious (classified). It is true the Su-30 is more maneuverable if not equal to the raptor. The Raptor still has great maneuverability, but it excels in combat systems, speed, and stealth, something the sukhoi doesn't have. F-22 is best "all around" superiority fighter. Notice I didn't say multirole, which is part of what the Su-30MKI is and, to be frank, is better than F-22 in multirole with better payload.

And as an attacker the F-18E/F is superior to the Typhoon and Rafale when it comes to versatility, but performance isn't quite as great when it comes to maneuverability.

In terms of maneuverability I would say the MiG-29OVT excels... the TV is slightly better that the 30MKI's. It has a better thrust/weight, ROC, speed.

Pash would you like to elaborate about Russian wolf and Mr.F-22A vs. Su-47 over Bagdad (or was it Moscow?) If you really are I think it be nice if we had full proof. Now... would you like to admit or not. This isn't to scare you Liberator. This is merely to protect you.

You mean that guy who said he shot down a squad of Berkuts with a solo Raptor? Ah, I remember those times....... they were crazy! :D

Basically, some guy who apparently was an -22A pilot said he sot down a few 47s on his own without causing an international dispute over Moscow and got away with it..... If you ask me, he watches too much TV. :D

Okay, bad things with the Raptor. Computer systems, definitely needs reprogramming. It has good advanced computers, a way to big memory chip, and all that. But, put it over enemy airspace, and its just crap. Computers go haywire. Its basically having a cool looking car in a farm. Won't last a second.

Payload - Good for air targets, but ain't so good with ground targets. Plus, it can only have 6 missiles without compromising its stealth. A Hornet can carry 8 or so and still get the job done.

1. There is only one Su-47 and it was cancelled
2. There are no Raptors or Sukhois deployed in Iraq
3. He fails at life

:D :D :D

I hope you are a computer programmer for the F-22, because this sounds very vague and unsupported.

Not true, it can carry 8 internally

It could carry 14 missiles if it really wanted to, which is impractical ... Oh yeah not to mention 480 rounds of 20mm

So they did increase the gun ammo.

Why is there a poll at the top of this thread that says:

Remember me?
Yes
No
Number 3

Just wondering what's the ratio of classic members to new ones.

Just bumping in to answer 13th's questions....

No, but that would be cool making the AI on a Raptor. :) Some time ago, a squad of Raptors were deployed to go to Hawaii. As soon as they crossed the official time zone, most of their computers went haywire. Lost all means of communication, location and tracking. Even GPS. They were forced to turn back.

That's how I am making my estimate. ;)

Ah, forgot about that. But can't it carry a max of 18 bombs / missiles altogether? I forgot the name, but it is 3 TV guided bombs on 1 hard point. And there are 2 hard points. All the other weapons it can carry.

The only event that made me think that the Raptor is insignificant would be the infamous canopy incident.

4 or so hours stuck inside a cockpit that you can't even open manually.....FAIL. But then again, most things can be solved with trial and error.
