First off warning this will be long, detailed, and in a outline like format.
Basic concept: Open world rpg that uses only the universe, not the characters of the bleach series. This game is meant to give the player massive control over the design of and choices in the destiny of their character. By this I mean that players should if they chose be able to start as a soul reaper for the soul society and could end up working for the bount or arrancar.
Basic game play: This will be similar to the most recent bleach game as it will to follow hack and slash action style. Players will select a race\faction for there character and design there appearance and such(will later elaborate on options below when describing races). Also they should be able to select a preset voice for there character to use. Also appearance altering items should be scattered about for players to obtain for making there character appear as they wish. As players gain experience and level up they should be given a array of skill options such as kido and martial art techniques for soul reapers. This allowing players to effectively create a character with specific talents and specialties just as the series has depicted. Random appearances of enemies may show up as well to complicate things and certain actions may draw more attention to you than you want or can handle.another thing that should be added is accounting for sight obscured by smoke or being dazed by a strike when setting Ai responses. This will make the action more realistic and more fair to both sides. This will be some or the dynamic events that take place. I'm thinking also that instead of health dropping when blocking a second gauge that symbolizes spirit pressure will drop instead. Once depleted you will literally be thrown off your feet by the force of the blow or be wide open for a strike if the attack that depleted the gauge wasn't that powerful. Another fix is infinite flash step(or equivalent for non soul reaper characters) capability linked to a button combined with a movement. Also players should be able to release or seal their weapon at will(going from drawing the sword to 2nd release and back to the original blade at any time) In regards to the open world these zones will need to be created: world of the living, the soul society(seireitei and rukon distrct), and hueco mundo.(desert, las noches, and menos forest) These zones will not need to be massive, but will need to be fairly big. Also if possible destruct able environments should be included, this will allow the player to create a crater if a blast hits the ground or even drop a building. also you should be able to pit an enemy against a wall with a extendable blade ability or things of this nature. These things will undoubtedly keep players locked into the action as they play. Difficulty should have a few options: a mode where no enemy is more than 2 -4 levels higher than you, one or two more that increase the difficulty and a realistic mode that will even put you in situations where run and hide is the only option or have situations with pathetic enemies as well.
Races and options:
Soul reaper (soul society variety)
Soul reapers of the soul society should start out with just choosing there appearance which can be non-human like komamura is.(aka wolf faced captain) next they can pick the non_released appearance of their blade. From there no more is available until they pick a skill for the 2nd release of their blade. Only after that can they pick the 2nd release form and the spirit(plays part of third release) of the blade at the same time. At this time they can choose to leave their blade in 2nd release form permanently. At the third they pick the form of the 3rd release(there should be more than one option for most blades) Here they select the 3rd form and they face a special event, a challenge from the spirit to prove themselves worthy of the new blade capability. Skills should allow for following disciplines from any combination of kido, blade wielding, martial arts, and haddo.
Soul reaper (substitute variety)
Same as previous except will always have human appearance and will start in the world of the living. Will also encounter different responses from npcs in the game to the character.
Same as soul reapers except for a few details: at start they pick a hollow mask which will have specific special effects of attacks and such at later stages. the first happens at the 2nd release stage when your health drops below a certain threshold the hollow mask appears on the face of the soul reaper and the player loses control of their character. At this point their character is invincible and will automatically attack all nearby opponents the player will need to press a certain sequence of buttons then repeatedly hit one specific button to regain control. (process for ripping the mask off) if the player fails to do so in time the hollow will take over permanently and game over, reload. By the 3rd blade release the player will finally be able to force the inner hollow under heel. A challenge similar to the one required for the 3rd release should be used here as well. A great struggle for sanity feel will be added to the game play from this, making these characters all the more fun and unique to play.
Bount will chose at the start their physical appearance as well as the appearance of their summoning crest. They will also pick a doll to fight with and the second form of that doll for later. Depending on the doll and way to attack with it, determines how combat functions. If it is a handheld one like a blade you will die the second your health bar depletes entirely, but dolls that are separate from the bount are controlled directly by the player. During this the bount body is invincible during the fight with the doll. Once the doll is defeated the bount will either fight hand to hand(which will be weaker in these bount with these doll types) and have to wait on a cooldown before they can re summon the doll, or they will have to flee. Bount will also need to consume wandering souls to survive obtaining a small amount of xp for this. Because of this they obtain a bar showing the need to feed, if it ever depletes fully you die. They will also have the option to feed on the souls of the live for a greater xp bonus, but they will risk soul reapers and such finding them out, and the more often they do it the more likely they will be found out and the stronger the enemy that finds you out. Skills should also include a purification of the living soul essence allowing for bigger bonuses.
Quincy will pick there physical appearance and possibly the color or shape of there bow. At later levels they will pick up a raishi? glove skill that will allow the new bow and abilities followed by a release option for the glove. This will grant a temporary appearance change and power\speed boost that will make the player choose to either kill or outrun their current enemy. After the end of the temporary boost the quincy is completely vulnerable as they lose all powers temporarily. For a full game day(at most 15-20 minutes) they are without any powers. after that they start with their starting bow powers. After one more day if they picked the raishi glove creation skill they obtain the second bow again. After that 2 to 3 more game days later then they can release the glove again. quincy will also have the option to obtain artifacts that will let them fight temporarily during the vunurable period, but it will take longer to recover the original powers if they do. Safe zones will be available that allow the quincy to fast forward until they have the second bow if they have the skill. They will also have access to a skill that allows more time and power when using artifacts to fight during that period. eventually they will obtain a third bow and the five arrow weapons which you can wield like a blade. The one attack will allow you to set one of the five and it will show the other four places to put the others, you only have to have the enemy in the center of it somewhere when placing the last one to start the attack.
bakoto wielders pick a lesser bakoto blade to start and eventually will find a place where other options are in one room. Once they have found one they really like they can permanently bond with it. Bakoto wielders also get a third bar that represents total spiritual energy. Each time a player uses the release blade button it increases the blades power and capability as well as cause the blade spread across their body. Once they hit the furthest level of power they can currently use if their spiritual energy bar depletes to far the blade will consume them and game over.
Hollows, Menos Grande(3 forms), and Arrancar
players start as a hollow by selecting a body structure and adding parts to their hollow and eventually a mask shape and features for the mask. Depending on what parts are used some hollows will obtain special abilities like a wrap capability or a object to confuse enemies like the grand fisher had. Hollows, menos, and arrancar all need to consume souls or other hollows to survive, because of this they to will have a bar that depletes over time and will result in death it ever depletes fully. I'm thinking that skills and evolution for these three should go as follows: hollows once they reach a certain level can evolve into the first menos type, depending on what level they chose to change makes the next form stronger or weaker as you go. Meaning if you wait until level 40-50 then change rather than earlier your menos will be far stronger than if you do it quicker. Doing this will make the game calculate your new stats and restart the menos at level 1 with these enhanced stats. This will happen at each form until you choose to become an arrancar. once becoming the 1st menos you pick a unique new mask shape for the form. After devouring a certain amount of hollows and being at a certain level you can become the 2nd menos type. In this form you will chose body shape, mask shape\features, and all the other option as you would when first starting as a hollow. From here 2 options come up either the next menos form or arrancar. After eating more hollows and reaching the proper level you choose your next form. If you chose the menos form you pick the same options again but in a much smaller size now.When you choose the arrancar you pick the size and appearance of your new human shaped body, and get to carve a small piece of your previous mask off to remain on your arrancar's face. You also pick a blade which will also chose your first release form, eventually you will pick a 2nd release form after you pick the skill up. when arrancar fight they start with there fists the first release button press will draw your blade the next will release your 1st form change and so on. Also due to how hollows change there names as they evolve players will get to rename their hollow at 3 points.(hollow, second menos, and arrancar) Also all these character forms will gain a massive xp bonus for killing and absorbing a soul reapers soul.
That concludes the basic outline of my bleach game idea. I leave a lot of options to the game developers here, then again I'm not compulsive to the letter on my game ideas. I hope that this game will be made eventually, so let's here what you think, vote and leave comments.
