Well, another near-death experience

Post by Cool_man 17_7 » Sat Jul 17, 2010 2:03 pm

So today we were driving along, trying to enjoy the final days of our vacation...then.

*BANG* Without warning, all wheels on my car locked-up. We were in a skid going 100 KPH down the highway in the middle of nowhere...

Some fancy driving and a little luck later, we were safely on the side of the road...

*whew*

Now we're stuck here for the weekend until a garage opens on Monday...

Here are some pics:

(the Highlander is ours, the Prius is a nice guy who works for parks Canada making sure we were okay...)

Does your Highlander have ABS? I ask because the only Toyota I know about is the 4Runner.
A skid from 60mph to 0 sounds rather frightening!

Speaking of recent near deathers, I was driving my Grand Am down the road and evaded some pieces of a road sign that were in my lane by going into the empty oncoming lane. What was hidden by the bend though? A brand spanking new Dodge Challenger! We missed, but it was close.

Definetly sounds like a an electronic problem. But still weird, thankfully no one was hurt.

I feel for you. Events like this come when you least expect it.

At least nothing tragic happened.

This actually somewhat scares me. Our family uses a Limited Edition '02 model.

Be sure to come back to us with the cause.

Glad you made it out ok. Have you ever considered living in a bubble?
