Actual feasibility notwithstanding, the Ouya project is obviously dreaming of more than just "mobile games."Pash Master wrote:Actually the Ouya is an open source android-based console -- it's just meant to play mobile games on the big screen. It's games are also exclusivly free-to-play too.
Dragon Ball Online uses a free-to-play model with a cash shop, so it does meet that requirement. We're handing the reins over to the developer with only one condition: at least some gameplay has to be free.

Regardless of its merit, an up-and-coming console is not going to immediately gain the same user base as long-established systems.
If we ever see Dragon Ball Online outside of Asia, my money is on PC.

Point right on the money. And Not to mention that being on PC is the perfect home for an MMO as well.
I'm not even sure how Ouya is going to turn out. Hardware making is a tricky process, and it won't be a smooth ride getting their idea up and working. But at least they aren't in short suppy of any cash. If they play their cards right, I can see this being on the same level that OnLive is now.
Right now though, the big publishers seem to be weary about it. They're keeping an eye on it, but the big problem with be convincing them to bring their games onto the console, something which I have no idea how Ouya will go about doing, and even more so with the premise of a free model. I suppose a demo for each game would count for the free part, but as it stands I don't see many publishers taking a risk on it. They might release one or two experiment titles to test the waters, but I'm seeing this primary as grounds for indie devs and the mobile guys.
